Each month we select at random a new design created by our Head of Design, Beverley
Pemberton. She focuses on the clients wish list, the size and shape of the plot, the planning
scenario and the available budget and combines these key elements into a viable design.
This couple specifically stated that they did not want open plan, however I have arranged the rooms with a natural flow. Their brief also included a requirement for an activity area for their son, Thomas, which I have located in the attic. Thomas could also use the sitting area in the family kitchen if he wanted to be more connected with the rest of the house. All four bedrooms can accommodate a king-sized bed.
As well as a double garage the couple asked for a workshop and an area to store their boat. In here I have incorporated open rafters for manoeuvrability and three Velux windows for added light.
Overall Beverley and the team tried to create some interest and shape to the property that not only gives it
character and style, but also sits comfortably with the surrounding dwellings whilst also looking very special.
The overall size of the dwelling being 230sqm as internal dimensions.
